Fatal Shooting at Midland Park Leaves One Dead, Investigation Ongoing
A tragic shooting in Midland has left one person dead, prompting an active investigation by local authorities.
According to the Midland Police Department, officers responded to reports of gunfire shortly before 10 a.m. on Saturday at Reyes-Mashburn-Nelms Park, located in the 2100 block of East Cuthbert Avenue.
Upon arrival, police discovered the victim, Devon Nelson, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was immediately transported to Midland Memorial Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Authorities confirmed that Nelson’s next of kin have been notified. As of now, the suspect involved in the shooting has not been fully identified, and no arrests have been announced.
