Huntingdon, Tennessee — A tragic school bus crash in west Tennessee has left two students dead and at least seven others injured, officials confirmed Friday. The crash occurred on Highway 70 in Carroll County while the bus was transporting students on a field trip. The incident has sparked shock and grief across the state as authorities continue their investigation.

According to officials, the bus was part of a group from Kenwood Middle School in Montgomery County, carrying about 25 students and five adults to Jackson for an educational outing when the collision occurred. A Tennessee Department of Transportation dump truck and a Chevrolet Trailblazer were also involved in the crash, though investigators say it’s not yet clear what caused the deadly collision.

Emergency responders rushed victims to nearby hospitals, with seven individuals airlifted for treatment. Four children were reported in stable condition at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, while others were evaluated and released at Baptist Memorial Hospital‑Carroll County.

State and local leaders have expressed deep sorrow, calling the crash every parent’s worst nightmare. The Tennessee Highway Patrol is leading the ongoing investigation with updates expected as more information becomes available.
